Claude has always been an example for all those who know him
and in particular for us, friends of his daughters. Creator of
company, source of dynamism and generosity, we all were touched when
the Multiple sclerosis striked him, already 12 years ago.
The evolution of the disease was faster than at a great
number of patients. Today, only precise objectives still give
him the force and courage to hang up again itself with the life. This
is why we want to add an additional date on its personal calendar,
dates which will thus constitute a new objective, source of Hope and
thus of Life.
To associate with an ambitious project that we mature since
already a good number of years to the disease of Claude consequently
became an obviousness.
Three among us (Philippe, Christophe, Joel) will thus leave
on August 1 2001 Claude (near Salon-de-Provence in the south of France) for a
bike trip around the world to meet national association fighting against
Multiple Sclerosis. This tours, from one one year duration for a
little more than 22,000 km will pass by 12 associations
located along the five continents. We will remain each time a few
days in these associations with an aim of making fuller knowledge with
patients and of knowing how, with the daily newspaper, they live their
multiple sclerosis, which are their sufferings, their Hopes. Each one
of these associations will then constitute a link of a formidable
chain of solidarity and exchange. Once created, this chain will be
dedicated to perdurer beyond this adventure in order to continue to
advance the search and the support of the patients.
The use of the Internet network associated with photo and
video hardware will make it possible the greatest number to live the
adventure with the daily newspaper, to put questions, to discuss with
other people, patients or not.
The arrival in various associations will be also the occasion
through media or different actions of speaking about the multiple
sclerosis. Thus, general public will be
able to get informed about realities of this disease so that each one
does not await, like us, that one of its close relations is striked to
know it.
Already several members of the NAFSEP joined us on Paris
to raise this project. We thus invite you also to
make us share of your suggestions, comments and other remarks to
achieve together this Odyssée de l'Espoir...
